Homeopathy (1st Page)
Yellow head
First page of my story strip about homeopathy. This is my follow up to the Andew Wakefield/MMR strip I previously did. My plan is to do a whole book of science stories, looking pseudo sciences and conspiracy theorys in particular. Subjects will include climate change, the moon hoax, the face on Mars, chiropractors, and evolution. This will make me popular with some and hated by others. So be it.

While I'm doing this, I'll still be working on the Uncle Bob collection. So fear not Bob fans. Bob will return.

I like it.

I'm a big fan of being "popular with some and hated by others", so I say go, Darryl, go!

Can't wait for all the NewAge/SewAge twits to come along and whine about how "closed-minded" Darryl is. Or maybe "in the pay of Big Medicine."

I can't wait to see what you've got planned about chiropractors...

Looking forward to the moon hoax one most of all. Teh Crazy is strong in those people.

Why not evolution? It's a science subject which those on the far religeous right don't except as valid.

Ah. I thought you were suggesting it was the theory of evolution you were going to debunk. >.>

I'm sure he meant he will debunk creationism.

So long as your findings support the view of reason, you'll always remain popular to me. :V

I like the sound of this! Looking forward to seeing your new strips.

I wholly support this project :)

could there be quotation marks around "like cures like"? I had to re-read the panel a few times before I got it. I imagine it would make it easier to read/understand but am unsure if that would be proper gramatically or in syntax..

yes, I need this too, I didn't get the meaning til I got to this comment ;)

Can't wait for this series x

Popular with me, you'll be.

Go with what feels right. You should never compromise what you feel like producing on the worry that some people will hate it. Not that I think you were going to do that.
On another note, Your book arrived a couple of weeks ago and I have really enjoyed it. Seeing the work in one collection is really nice and I have been pushing it to non comic reading friends with some success. So well done you.

This is great so far, and I loved your Wakefield comic. I had no idea he performed lumbar punctures on children. What a fucking psychopath.

A friend of mine recently pointed out to me that there's a big overlap between people who are into homeopathy and the antivax crowd -- which is to say, between the people who believe that like cures like and the people who reject the only genuine example of like curing like. You literally cannot please them.

I've not really done the research on this, but from the little I've read, it would seem that climate change is quite real. I won't really know until I've done the strip what I actually think about the issue. It's best to keep an open mind.

A suggestion, and that's all this is of course. But another one that gets thrown around a lot are the myths about 9/11.

Gah. I can't stand conspiracy theorists.
